Fabric and Color Selection
Fabric and color selection will vary based on the use
of the window treatment you've selected along with other
decorating elements in the room (furniture, carpet, wallpaper,
paint, and accessories).
If the treatment
is to be used alone, you may choose to make your windows
a subtle architectural detail. Choosing a neutral tone
with or without pattern will make your room look and feel
larger, if your walls are also neutral.
To make a dramatic
statement and call immediate attention to your windows,
consider a high contrasting color.
Keep in mind, when
adding an overtreatment, the top treatment fabric usually
provides the definitive decorative statement, thus the
undertreatments such as blinds or shades are generally
neutral or a much softer tone.
